When I say shudder and vibrate i'm talking about it shifting into 1st gear. So I would like to know is this being cause from a bad motor mount. After 1st gear the car shift's fine.

Like you said, sounds like a motor mount. But obviously something is loose. Good luck.

It's more likely a vacuum leak . Low vacuum will make the engine want to stall and it makes the transmission downshift. Once you get up some speed, the vacuum comes back up and you're OK.

Sounds like maybe when you buy a new car, it shouldn't be a Ford.
