Why do men seem to have kinks or fetishes more often than women?

You are actually asking two questions and they have two different answers. Kinks and fetishes are very different things.

A fetish is a sexual fascination with an inanimate object. Someone that becomes sexually aroused by looking at a shoe with no person wearing it has a shoe fetish. Fetishes are MUCH more common in men. This is probably because men are more visually stimulated than women, who are more emotionally stimulated. (It's hard to be emotionally stimulated by a shoe.)

A kink is used to describe any "unusual" sexual preference. Years of research has shown that although appetites vary from one individual to the next there is almost no kink that is actually unusual. Men and women both enjoy a vast array of kinks but I do think that men are viewed as being kinkier. I'd guess that this goes back to some basic differences in the attitudes men and women have about sex. Since men don't require the same level of emotional investment in sex they are more lighthearted about it, more open about their desires. The rest of the world picks up on this and markets more sexually explicit things to men than to women.

I think women have them just as much as men do, but maybe women just hide it more than the men. I know a lot of women who have their "activities" that no one who didn't know them better would never in a million years think of them doing something like that! But it doens't matter, what you do behind closed doors with your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse is up to you and nobody else's business really!
