i'm writing a book with griffons in it.

griffons hatch from eggs. That's why you never see any teats for nursing the young.

You may use your fantasy since ,being the griffons absolutely mythological animals, there is not a reliable written source where you may find this information. Nobody, whatever will be your choice, could dispute your book with a written proof...!!!
However I would preder reading they've given birth to like lions...!

Eggs. Lions are mamals, but griffins are more eagle, to support their wingspan and be able to fly, they'd have to have increadibly large heats and lungs, as well as hollow yet strong bones. P.S. try reading "The Dark Lord of Derkhelm(or derkholm, i cant remember)"

Griffons have nests and they lay eggs. They do not nurse their young, either. Hope this helps. :)

Mythologicaly they are hatched from silver eggs while their fathers stand by watching covering the nest with their wings.

By the way,the females were the ones with wings. They would lay agates(a crystal/silicon stone) and they would hatch.

My son, 13, has a gift of insight and knowledge says they are born, they don't come from eggs.

Neither baby giffons come from mushroom like spores, which fall from the adult giffon.
