It depends on where in Texas. I lived in Houston for two years. While I enjoyed the friends and the people that we met, I absolutely despised the weather. It only got below freezing about once or twice a year, and you couldn't even go outside in July and August because of over-100 degree heat and around 100% humidity. It was so bad that if you walked outside to get the mail and back (probably only about 50 feet total), you would come inside drenched with sweat and it would take you about 20 minutes just to cool back down.
But other places like Austin and San Antonio are beautiful and have somewhate milder weather. The only other thing that bothered me about Texas was the Texas pride. I mean, what other state requires their students to say a State pledge after the Pledge to the American Flag?
...I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one and indivisible...
PS - I never said the pledge. ;-)

I was born and raised in Texas and I am still here. I have seen many cities in Texas and yes I have been out of the state and the country. There are good and bad things in all places. The weather here is difficult for some people depending on their taste. They say if you dont like the weather in Texas wait 5 minutes. It can be 85 degrees one day and ice and snow the next. But for the most part Texas is great. Its so big and so many places to go and see without leaving your own state. My favorite city in Texas is San Antonio. I love the riverwalk and Seaworld. Texas is not bad. Its good.
Other things I love about Texas
The Cowboys
The Stars
The Mavericks
The Fort Worth Cats
West End in Dallas
Six Flags
Austin
Southern hospitality
That shape of our state. It's like no other. I mean what do you do it your state is shaped like Kansas? Sorry guys. LOL.
Ok, I could go on but I better get on to another question. Happy New Year Yall from Texas!

Moved to San Antonio 6 years ago and was totally surprised by the greenery as I had only been in Northern Texas. There is so much to do here and we have the fantastic Riverwalk, Alamo, Sea World, Six Flags Fiesta Texas plus numerous water parks. The Hill country is so close, with lakes and rivers. The Gulf is only about 3 hrs away. The only thing I do not like at times is the humidity.

Not at all! Every town big or small in every state has its good points and its bad points. Texas has alot of history and alot of interesting places to visit. Dallas/ Ft. Worth has the wax museum and the Ripleys Believe It Or Not museum, San Antonio has the Alamo, and so on! Texas is a beautiful state full of interesting people and sites. I've lived here my whole life and LOVE Texas!!

I disagree. It relatively relies upon on the place interior the deep south you reside at. i'm no longer a liberal, i'm a reasonable so i'm ok w/ the section for the main section. while you're person who likes the quickly paced existence-style of NYC, then sure, it relatively is a hell hollow, yet once you're a laid back kind of person, you may probable like it. I propose it isn't the tip of the international. In those states, you probable do no longer want to stay in a small united states city. in spite of the undeniable fact that the bigger cities of cellular(AL), Baton Rouge(la), New Orleans(la), Lafayette(la), Nashville(TN), and Charleston(SC) are ex cellent places to stay. And Georgia is a huge place, it is relatively hilly and there's a large black center classification there(espeicially the ATL section), the comparable is going for South Carolina(nicely the carolinas era are yet another hotspot for blacks doing nicely) Alabama has extremely some the prettiest seashores of the Gulf(Gulf seashores, Orange coastline, Perdido Key) Mississippi-nicely i'm no longer able to argue w/ you there, i do no longer precisely like combating in that state the two except i'm combating @ a relax section. this actual section is trouble-free for it is staunch conservatism approximately each and every thing. Nashville-nicely it is trouble-free for it is music scene Louisiana-the cajun and creole cooking noticeably in direction of the east(lafayette, houma, New Orleans, Opelousas) have you ever been to the deep south? the place might you get the assumption from?

I was in Dallas last summer. Had to get used to the lack of natural trees. Other than that, I liked it.
