I want to have 4 cameras in the house and want to watch live in the office.I have unlimited internet both ends and also computers. what are the hardware and software for this purpose. Anf what may be the approx. carges.

You'll need some sort of webcam server. These range anywhere between free and expensive (the software). Just about any old computer should be good enough to host. Keep in mind you'll have some firewall problems, and you'll have to rig up some sort of password system so only you can log in to watch the webcams.
