can a person get his height from his greatgrandprents and cusins?

my great grandfather is 6'7 or 6'8 and i am about to be 13 and i am 5'8 i was trying to find out if i got his tall genes?

~I know you can from great grandparents. I got my great aunts size. I don't know about cousins.~

There's more to your genetic makeup than just a few people, but as a rule you will be like your ancestors. Somewhere in your tree are some tall folks and some small folks. Mixed up in the mix are lots of ancestors. You may be taller than Uncle Tall Paul or shorter than auntie Sadie Short. Just wait and see. As long as your feet still reach the ground then you are not too tall!

You can inherit some things from your grandparents, but not your cousins. Mostly, the only things you will inherit from your grandparents would be something like being color blind. Or eye color. But if your grandfather is very tall, then hey, you might get tall.

erm... cousins won't but all ur ancestors ya... means it includes ur parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on... but its effect reduces for previous generations...
