Basically, any work that was cheap and usually reserved for immigrants is what they went into when they arrived.

It completely depends on your job background and education. If you've never been employed, a job in a restaurant or retail industry would be your best bet to start off with. If you have a degree, look for employment for which you are trained. Welcome to the U.S.
