I am not saying he was a good man in any way, but who are we to go in there and push our principles on them. I know that there was supposedly nukes in there. If there are then yeah, everyone should be going in there to get them. But again, we have nukes too, so why shouldn't other countries. This is a hard question, I am happy that he is not alive. He was no Hitler, but he was a very evil man. I am glad he isnt hurting anyone else, but do two wrongs make a right, he killed people so we killed him. Not so sure how to feel on this one.

I agree. He chose to live his life in such a way that it was a total loss. He chose to live in such a way that others were compelled to kill him for his choices. What a terrible way to die.
I am also disgusted with the people who want to see his execution. Why would a person want to see another killed, no matter who it is? I remember when Timothy McVeigh (Oklahoma City bombings) was executed, a mother of one of the victims said that she was looking forward to watching him die for what he did. But, after she watched him die, she said that she didn't feel any better and it didn't change anything that had happened. She regretted watching it.
Yes, the world may be rid of an evil man, but there are others to pop up and take his place.

i don't feel the word has benefited at all from his death. there was no trial or any effort to bring the story's of the people he killed and exploited to light. executing Saddam made him a passing news story and he will soon pass from our consciences. people are saying stuff like "i'm glad the murderous bastard is dead!" but seriously how can we justify ourselves murdering a murderous bastard to show that murder is wrong? his execution will only stir up discontent among the iraqi people and make us even more unpopular in the international community. if the Nuremberg trials had not exposed all the heinous crimes the nazis commited the our generation would not have known about the events that took place there. just killing saddam to get it over with is robbing future generations of the knowledge of the crimes he commited.

I was reading news articles that people are seeing him as a martyr and I am worried that the people who followed him are going to get their revenge on us meaning the United States. It's an eerie feeling, it almost seems that he and whoever still stand with him had this situation set up this way.

I'm not sure that his death will really change anything. Yes, he deserved to die for his crimes, however the REAL reason Bush put you Americans in the middle east is simple money and more specifically oil. The illusion that Bush keeps alive is that it is to bring democracy to Iraq, but that's his propoganda machine at work.

I am sad that it had to come to this. It was sad realizing that the whole world was eagerly anticipating the execution of someone, even a terrible man like Saddam.

I agree with you. Its very sad to see that some one wasted their life to do harmful things to other putting their lives and others in danger. It was probably a good guy who grew mentaly ill and was going crazy and he killed others to make himself feel better. Its sad that they hung him instead of letting him die naturally. It is indeed very weird to have one less person on the planet but in other words hes not harming us. So I am 50/50. He was a messed up good guy who was hateful.

I don't feel bad for him. I feel bad that he chose the path that he did. He committed horrible acts in his lifetime. Many suffered because of his evil ways. Although I hope his soul will be forgiven, my heart goes out to his victims and hope it brings them some sense of peace or justice.
