i thought premiership clubs had better drainage on their pitches?

ive worked as a steward at several clubs including chesterfield, mansfield and doncaster rovers.

i can understand lower league matches being cancelled.

i do not at all support chelsea or man utd.

i was there today. the rain was so hard i could hardly see the other end of the pitch, but interestingly, the ref took the players off after the rain had mostly stopped. that was supposed to be for 10 mins. the rain stopped completely but the ref never came back out. i must say i was a bit surprised.

then the players came out and gave shirts and balls to fans, which i thought was a great gesture.

They do but the pitch was still like a pond lol. Thats some heavy rain they got there.

if the pitch gets so wet that it gets dangerous for the players, the ref has no alternative but to abandon the match.

It was an absolute torrent of rain - monsoon season in watford!!!

you must be new to this football supporting game ? possibly a chelski glory hunter. it used to happen all the time. especially at the bridge.
