In a few weeks I will have earned two weeks vacation time from my job and I am wondering wear is the best spot for gay man to go and unwind. Maybe have a little addventure. All without going broke.

I live in Seattle and I think we're pretty gay friendly. But I don't know about the gay singles scene. We're affordable though =D.

the palm trees is the problem. Key West is sort of overrun but you can have a good time. From what you say I don't think you'd like Miami/South Beach - too glitzy/fabulous and all gay scene. Orlando is way-gay......do some googleing if you can stand to be away from the ocean (lots of good places with pools and the atmosphere - lots to do - some nice low-key clubs as well as scene). But for a gay destination I still like Provincetown of the places I've been. Why not start searching listings for gay guesthouses & b&b's - there are some nice, smaller, low-key places where you can luxuriate.

If you want something a little off the beaten track, consider a trip to Ogunquit, Maine, USA. Of course, this would only be a good choice in mid summer. We used to joke that Maine only has two seasons.....winter and august.
