Correct. Each resistant object in the path of current ads to the total resistance of the circit. In this series circuit, the loss of one light (resistor) will OPEN the whole circuit and turn off all current
In a parallel circuit, each resistant object get confronted with the same Electromagnetic Force, and hence the same voltage and current.
"Seperate" lines go to each device. A loss of one device won`t short out the others. Nice for 1st person shoot-em-ups.
Parallel Lines tend to be able to hold larger and more frequent changes in load.

Yes, there's only one path in a series circuit. By way of contrast, in a parallel circuit, there is more than one paths.
