Met my fiance on line 3 years ago. We are getting hitched next May. We live 2.5 hours from each other and spend each weekend together, plus talk nightly on the phone.

II got on AOL when you had to pay $3.95 an hour, back in the day...The forum was addicting, and that was about 10 - 11 years ago. I started talking to this guy EVERY DAY..and when we weren't talking online we were emailing each other. I mean I responded to every single email that he sent, and was mad if he didn't respond quick enough. I was thinking that he was my soul mate. We graduated to the phone and then, we were talking all night on the telephone, every night. I could not date anyone because he was like my boyfriend. He started to send me gifts because I gave him my home address. We got into arguments and made up like we were a couple. ALL THIS WITHOUT LAYING ONE EYE ON HIM...It was mental. Finally, after about 2 years, we exchanged pictures--he told me I was lovely and wanted to marry, but guess what? As soon as I saw his picture the passion was out the door! I did not have the heart to tell him that I was not attracted to his phsical appearance. He wasn't ugly just not my type. We are still the best of friends to this day.
I will tell you this I do not believe that you can have or find true love on the internet.

Hey dude,
Love or lust?
Neither worked for me; I am married :)
I think this is a good and bad trend. I have been approached by so many women it isn't funny, and I am not even looking. Some of them seem to be REALLY good people. I have to stop, slap myself and say, "I AM MARRIED, THIS is the woman that I love and am committed to, end of story."
I have seen SO MUCH bad stuff happen with marriages, relationships, etc that the whole internet dating/sex thing is just not worth it. Be friends and friendly and do not rush ANYTHING.
This is from YEARS of experience even before www came along. I was a part of the BBS scene back in 1988 through 1991. There, we were all geeks and freaks from all over. We would get together one a year to have pizza and a party. Even then, playing MUD and other games, meeting new people, was a bit strange.

I used to do this IRC thing. Chat rooms. Chatted with 100s of people. Had this school teacher from Tennessee invite me down. We met at a hotel and banged all day long.
A little time later she had some conference and I met her at that for 2 days of straight screwing. It was a good time. Had some other, local broads want to hook up, but I had to take a pass.

Not been looking for love, but finding no strings casual sex is deady easy. Trawl MSN and Yahoo profiles looking for single / divorced / separated women. Send them pleasant email. you will be surprised how many answer. Start chatting.
My record? Met and had enjoyable encounter with seven women in one month

I don't know about the Internet, but I found love in the streets of my ghetto neighborhood. Tee hee!

I actually was using match.com, and it didn't work for me. However, my friend was also using match.com, and she wanted me to go with her to meet someone from the site (for safety). I ended up hitting it off with him and we've been in love ever since (1 year and counting). So technically, we did not meet on the Internet, but it did indirectly help us out.
