window 98 and xp are two different thing
they do not cross each other's path
you didn' upgrade 98 to xp
you deleted 98 and installed xp
now just use disc to install window xp home ed
you don't need 98

i'm afraid without getting the full windows xp home or professional editions cd's u are out of luck. the files required by the windows xp home upgrade cd exist only in windows 98 and maybe windows 2000 and are only for upgraded purposes...sorry.

Just delete windows 98 completely. clean off your computer as far as operating systems and than install xp.

Personally I am sorry to see 98 go. I find it much more useer friendlier and better than xp.
I've used wwwindow processional 2000 which is great but no better than 98.

You truly have me baffled. I have no idea what your question is.... WAIT, maybe you bought an XP Home Upgrade. No, you will have to have W98 installed first in order to upgrade.

You have to have the complete version, not just an upgrade.
