Look into the Theory of Supersymmetry. Some physicists attempting to unify gravity with the other fundamental forces have come to a startling prediction: every fundamental matter particle should have a massive "shadow" force carrier particle, and every force carrier should have a massive "shadow" matter particle. This relationship between matter particles and force carriers is called supersymmetry.

But basically, The moment after the Big Bang, all there was was an equal amount of matter and anti-matter. This became particles and antiparticles, and so came everything else. If you add all the positive forces in the universe with all the negative forces, the sum will still be zero.

When Paul Dirac was the Lucasian Professor of mathematics at Cambridge University (early 1930s), he was theorizing how energy is converted to matter. But using Special Relativity (E = m(c squared)), the amount of energy required to produce a proton or an electron accounted for exactly half of the energy; so what happened to the other half?

Dirac then realized that the 'extra' energy was producing another particle with an opposite charge: in the case of producing an electron, a positively-charged particle was also produced with the exact mass of an electron (he named this a positron); in the case of producing a proton, a negatively-charged particle with the exact same mass was also produced (he named this the anti-proton).

When matter and its corresponding anti-matter collide, matter is annihilated producing energy. Read about an interesting experiment carried out at CERN in 1985 by Carlos Rubia where he proved the Electro-Weak Theory by colliding protons and anti-protons.

The idea of anti-matter is truly one of the great ideas in physics.

Like man and woman, for the purpose of symmetry, there is equivalent amount of matter and antimatter.

Anti-matter is the wife of uncle matter (or simply matter)

Uncle is bald while anti has hair. So anti matter is denoted with a dash above its corresponding matter particle.

Uncle is heavy so it has restmass. if its made to produce two equal small uncles, some energy is produced corresponding to

E = mc^2
This is not a small energy. This high energy comes out as photons (or particle and anti particle pairs)

Gamma rays are produced when antimatter annihilates with matter. hence it is detected and are not much found on earth.

Anti Matter is just another model we use to better explain the most up-to-date models we have for physics, science, chemistry, et. al.

It is the square root of -1 for the mathematic.
Its the Ying to the Yang.

But of course we have no direct evidence of its existence. Its a model that may help explain other proposed models in the future.

Perhaps, the Grand Unified Theory?...

since everything is in symmetry (since everything came from nothing) in matter too if there is matter there should be anti matter too
