There is a whole web page on it here but I can't see anything about curses
"In the realm of Native American spirituality, the dolphin spirit bears both kindness and “play energy”. It has also become a representative role as the keeper of mysteries. Dolphins are regarded as the custodians of the lost and ancient wisdoms of the world, as well as the symbolic messenger of knowledge from our unconscious minds (underwater) to our waking, logical brains (the surface). The dolphin serves as a constant reminder to us to make time to play and have fun, regardless of the heavy, burdensome situations and circumstances that surround us."

Dolphins are typically thought to be very free spirited and thought to be very happy animals that have fun. This is the most common symbolism behind dolphins.

This is usually the depiction of a dolphin...an image of it leaping from its usual environment of the water into the air. Transition from one world to another.

It's like the fish symbol and denotes Christianity. Some may say that's a curse but I reserve judgement
