My brother and his wife run an organization named "Friends of
Felines". They take care of cats who have been cruelly discarded by very inhumane two legged creatures.I myself,and
others friends have adopted kitties from them.You are starting your year of great if you adopt/save a forgotten kitty.
I'm sorry that I don't know of any volunteer organizations in your area but I'm sure you can find one if you put your heart to it.
Check with your local animal shelter. They should know of some good people that run an agency.
