Any American Legion or local VFW can put you in contact with an approved disposal facility.
According to the United State Flag Code 36s 176(k): "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem of display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." This burning occurs during a formal ceremony conducted by an approved flag disposal organization.
Of course you're sure to get some people who are living here, maybe even Americans that are sponging off the system while putting this country down, that will give you some insulting answers.
Hope this helps

I bear in mind we did this as quickly as in woman scouts . . . there became a burning ceremony, the place we minimize the stripes off and burned them one with the aid of one, asserting some thing in between (in step with threat the call of the unique colony it represented?), and then burned the celebs. It became an previous tattered flag that mandatory to get replaced.

You "retire it" according to the method of the boyscouts, which calls for burning the flag. This is why all those people who "burn the flag" as a sign of protest are actually doing nothing wrong.

Who cares how you properly dispose of it. Just throw it away. It's not like the Bible or something.
