i want to know because i need a console that me and my brothers can play.

Reminder: "multi-tap" adapters are still pretty easy to find for the Ps2. These nifty little boxes are a good way to get up to 4 simultaneous players in the game. A quick poke through some auction sites shows they can still be had on the cheap. Game on.

Only 2. The original PS2 only holds 2, so the slimmer PS2 also only holds 2.

Sony makes more money on the multi-tap so stayed with 2. As was said just get a multitap and you can load up the 4. Also Burnout gets around this little thing with the crash mini-games in the later titles. What you do is just pass the first controller around.

it only holds two but im pretty sure you can buy a connector for multiple remotes..however theyre arent many games that are for more that 2 players..i would get a wii if too expensive (or out of stock) gamecube! lots of multiplayer games on there
