You cannot download the book for free, anywhere, unless someone has bought a downloadable copy and is willing to share it with you for free. If you have a credit card, though, you may be able to download it from Amazon.com or similar sites. But, unless you have a high-speed connection to the Internet, be prepared to wait for a long time for the download to complete.

Not that great! Having read all of Rushdie's books, I must say, it didn't grab me. If the Ayatollah hadn't made a fuss, then only Rushdie aficionados would have read it. Sorry, Salman, but you have written better books. Try Amazon!

Hullo Nishma S: I have a copy of it. Dunno how I can get it to you though. Looked up Rushdie but there's no full copy of the book. Think about it and get back to me. I'll send it to you. (If it's banned - you may get into trouble. Is there still a Jihad out on Salman Rushdie?)

Get a good friend in a country where you are allowed to buy this book..to mail one to you. Burning books is evil...I have just read a book that if read by the right "mad" people would get it banned..if the western religions were as zealous as the eastern ones...but...nope..it has quite a harmless title...so sneaks by un-noticed.

You can download free ebooks from: www.e-book.com but I doubt they will have that particular book, mostly old classics. There are also other sites.
