I am disgusted at what's being shown on the television today, its distressing to watch as an adult, must be worse for the children - yes he was a evil man and deserved execution but was this public humiliation really necessary?

No, 2 wrongs DO NOT make a right. I had no idea about this, until I read your question. This is terrible. I believe he was guilty of everything he was accused of, but I didn't believe he should be executed, and had hoped it wouldn't happen. We aren't God, and have/had no right to do this. What horrors will happen now? The Muslims will react quite badly about this, and the whole world will be made to pay. Bush can't and never will put an end to terrorism, and anyone who thinks he can/will are living in a dreamland.
I am so fearful for the world now.

Television is not something children should be watching. A television in a child's bedroom is not a smart idea. Pick what and when your child watches TV. Children should not be allowed to watch when and what they want.

Many Muslims wanted to witness the death of this cruel man. Some even believed that he would still come back and rule over them. Seeing his death was a closure for many people from Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Israel, Kuwait and America.

Genesis 9:6
Whoso sheddeth man's blood,
by man shall his blood be shed:
for in the image of God made He man.

Exodus 21:12
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
(premeditated murder)

Leviticus 24:17
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.

Numbers 35:30
Whoso killeth any man, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any man to cause him to die.

Sometimes it is neccesary to make an example of someone and maybe they were just making a point of this to the whole world when they broadcasted it. I havent actually seen the tv yet so I cant really comment on the distressing aspect, but I will Switch the news on later. I heard it on the radio, their comment was that you saw the hanging but not the actual moment of death.

It will be all over the internet and mobile phones in very graphic detail soon. It is a sad fact of life that people thirst for this sort of information. As adults we need to inform our children what has happened. Debate should be encouraged

No matter how much Hillary clamored that "it takes a village," it is the parents' responsibility to monitor what their children see on tv and Internet. If you find that it would be disturbing to your children, do not let them see it.

Also, if adults see that it really is Saddam swinging, maybe the conspiracy nuts will not bother intelligent people with their drivel about Saddam now getting a suntan in the Bahamas.

No 2 wrongs dont make a right, i DONT agree with capital punishment and feel that the rest of his life should be made miserable in a prison cell, once he's dead he's dead and will no longer have to suffer and live with the consequence of what he has caused. I certainly hope that his public execution is made damn hard to view and i shall be highly annoyed if it is shown on news broadcasting after 10pm in the UK! I dont wish to see it nor do any of my family!

I agree with the execution, and unfortunately I think some things do need to be shown, to set an example. I don't think they should show what he looked like while hanging or afterwards, but a noose around the neck, that's some pretty strong imagery.

As the majority of Arabs are illiterate and full of suspicion I suppose they had to put it on Arab television

Maybe the B.B.C showed it in Britain to reassure the thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of Ignorant Arab asylum seekers in this country and not forgetting the illegal immigrants who cannot speak English or read English that he was put to death.

The images are due to the people who lost loved ones and their entire families to Saddam. This includes Americans who have lost sons, husbands, daughters and wives or had them return home alive, but missing legs, arms or burned beyond recognition.
What if one of those people was you child? I only wish he did not get off so easily.

Two wrongs don't make a right. However, hanging Saddam was not wrong. It was justice. It doesn't make right all the things he did, but, maybe it'll stop someone from trying to do the same.
