With a Macintosh, you'll be able to run Mac OS X and Windows XP. It's like getting two computers in one. Macs are vastly superior to PC.

Personally id say a PC just because most people use them and Ive heard nothing but bad things about Macintosh's. If your new Windows XP tends to be more user friendly than most things and windows based pc are often a lot cheaper.

I would say windows - but thats only because the majority of people use it, so getting software, troubleshooting etc is much easier.


But if you feel brave then try one of the new Mac's - I've heard great things about their new operating system.

If you are reletively new to computers and can afford it mac is your best choice.

If you wan't to fit in with the crowd not pay much and always be able to ask your geek friend then Windows is our choice.

If you are looking for simplicity and robustness go for mac, as such you can always run windows on mac using www.parallels.com or bootcamp which is distributed thru apple.

More bang for the buck with PC's. They have more issues, but when you put them side to side with Mac's the cost offsets the potential difficulties.

If you can't decide,get a new Mac and run Windows on it.
