I have a huge list of them including The Green Mile and The money pit. He is such a great actor and these 2 examples of totaly different films show what a great actor he is!

Forest Gump - his films really are like a box of chocolate - with lots of different fillings and themes . I agree he is a great actor

- Forrest Gump
- Philedelphia
- The Terminal
He's just an amazing actor, I mean he won 2 Oscars 2 years in a row..

It is so hard to chose but my final would have to be between Forrest Gump and The Green Mile but then again I really liked Saving Private Ryan and The DA Vinci Code
I loved Cast Away but I detested Philidelphia, it is just so hard to pick just one as a favourite but i will agree with you that Tom Hanks has become an American Icon.

Apollo 13 and (don't laugh) The Da Vinci code - I love these movies for the subject matter, not because Hanks was in them.
However I do think Hanks was excellent in both Castaway and Forrest Gump. Castaway because he had to hold the entire movie on his own, and Forrest Gump because he had to play a person so totally out of character, and yet still made him believeable. Hanks did a wonderful job.

Gotta love Forest Gump, Big and Saving Private Ryan. All of his movies are really good. He is such a great actor.
