Is there a possibility to take a bus directly from Mexico City´s international airport to Guatemala?

I will arrive there around 6pm and would like to know if I have to get to another terminal before leaving and if there is any connection that will leave me in Guatemala City or La Antigua without having to change the bus?
If I have to change, which route would be good to take?

Thanks in advance for all answers!

I have no problems with a large voyage, earlier this year I travelled from Bogotá (COL) to Santiago de Chile by bus within less than a week.

My main considerations are the price and the security; a one-way trip by plane would be around 300$, if I would safe 200$ going by bus it would be quite interesting. Is the Chiapas area really that insecure?

No linebuses goes into a different coutry, american buses don't go to mexico or vice neither mexican buses goes to guatemala or vice. I'm mexican from mexico city & traveled Guatemala from '78 so let me tell you bus isn't a safe way to travel chiapas state in mexico and guatemala country. Avoid kidnapping, assault, injuries, go by plane from mexico city (distrito federal, DF) how ever if you insist on, best you can do by bus is mexico city to tapachula, chiapas (must go to either bus station called TAPO (Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Oriente) or to another called Central Sur (no buses to Tapachula from DF airport) www.busticket.com.mx info schedules & sells from many bus lines there or www.estrellablanca.com.mx/main/index.htp
Choose the most confortable because of time travel & weather conditions. Once crossing guatemala border you'll take a bus to guatemala city (capital) but choose the most comfortable and less stops possible since road conditions are worst. Mexico city -Tapachula 1180 Km (740 milles) Guatemala border -Guatemala city 350 Km (220 milles)

No way!

You have to take a direct bus from Mexico "TAPO" bus station (which is close to the airport: 10 minutes by taxi) to Tapachula (Chiapas), which is the closest Mexican city to the Guatemalan border. It would cost around $200 USD round trip, and get at least 15 hours. From the border you have to move otherway to the Guatemala city you want.

Buses from MexicoCity to Tapachula maybe ADO, ADO GL or Uno. I hardly recommend Uno, because is very confortable for such a long trip. Check www.ticketbus.com.mx or call directly the bus line you want.

You HAVE to buy tickets in advance, because there are only one or two trips every day.

Try Mexicana.com to find a low-fare air ticket which would save you a lot of time and maybe money!

I did this about two months ago- I was not able to find a direct bus, the buses in Mexico are quite sophisticated, and quite the opposite in Guatemala. We took a bus to the border- crossed but DIDN'T know we had crossed actually had to ask people which country we were in- not so bad however when we went to leave to go to Nicaragua they noticed that we had never stamped our pass port in and had to pay the equiv. of $50 to leave the country. GET YOUR ENTRY STAMP FOR GUATEMALA, I think they make the office less than availible to collect money. From the border we took "chicken busses" to HueHue tenango and then to Chimaltenago. From there you can get to Guatemala city- However i don't suggest going its Extremely dangerous. I recommend spending time in Antigua instead. Best of Luck!

Prices during the Xmas holidays to Guatemala are sky high, pun intended. The best I am getting from Cancun to Guatemala City are 650 usd round trip. The bus is at least less tan one half that.

how can I put this in a nice way.. ARE YOU CRAZY??????
DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HOURS WILL IT TAKE IF THERE IS ACTUALLY A BUS??
take the plane, honest, the plane would probably take 2 or 3 hours.. seriously.. the bus may take 2 days, cause youll have for the peninsiula to go south and then retake north to fo to the border.
but if you insist in taking the bus, go with a safe company, ETN or Primera Plus.. dont know wich route its best cause I dont even think there is a direct route..
