It will definitely not make your computer run faster. What it may do is enable your computer to run more programs at the same time. If you have not had "out of memory" errors, then you do not need more virtual memory.

Programs store information in memory when it is trasient data (that is, it doesn't need to be saved to disk yet, or it is being used for working purposes, for example, the graphics for a toolbar that your program uses is probably residing in memory). Sometimes a computer will not have enough memory for all the programs that need to use it, so windows will fake-out the programs and make them think they are storing things in memory, when in fact they are actually being stored on a hard disk. This is what virtual memory is. It is the overflow from your physical memory.

There are ways to improve the speed of virtual memory, but you likely don't need more of it (the operating system usually desides how much you need on its own and that's how much is used). To improve the speed of your virtual memory, you can have it reside on a second hard disk (as opposed to your primary hard disk that your operating system is stored on). You can also upgrade your primary hard drive to a faster one. You could do both to increase the overall performance of your system.

Having more real (non-virtual) memory (which is faster than hard disk storage) in your system will increase its speed because it means it can use less virtual memory (which is slow).

If someone offers to sell you virtual memory, please don't buy it. Virtual memory isn't something physical that you can buy.

You can try a few things to speed up your pc

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Program and delete ones that you are not using or need

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Defrag your computer>Then Run the Disc Clean-up

At the top of this screen go to Tools>Internet Options>Delete Cookies,Files and History

You could buy more RAM.
Go to http://www.filehippo.com and download a anti-virus program/spyware protection as well. There are programs on there to clean your Pc up.

You could change your virtual memory, it may help but removing things on your pc will free up space and that will speed things up.
Re-boot your Pc after all of this

Now lets clean up your disk.

Do a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. You can find both of them by following the path below.

Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk Cleanup. Let it do its thing. You can check every box that has something to delete.

Now follow the same path and do a Disk Defrag. Again just let it do its thing.

Now lets tweak your connection. There are many programs out there to do this. I will give you 2 of them.
