The ISP -which will remain nameless-Im using has installed itself as a tool bar and forces me to use their page as a home page, has annoying moving graphics I cant get rid of etc. It is slower than, I think, the other ISP i used which also claimed to be high-speed. I have dial up. Thanks for any info.

Hey Dude,

It's kinda like saying, "Do I need to move out my old girlfriend before my new girlfriend comes to live with me?"

ISP's are like girlfriends. They switch your "Field and Stream" magazines to "Good Housekeeping". They will not let you wash your white socks with your blue jeans. And most of all, they demand that you put down the toilet seat. Here a clue ladies, THE SEAT WORKS BOTH WAYS! You want it down, put it down YOURSELF! My dog likes to drink from the toilet and when I put it down, it deprives him of this vital thing for life. (Just kidding all :))

Many ISP inpregnate your pc so much, that you have to go through an official divorce before they get the hint.

While you may not have to, it is a good idea to remove EVERYTHING you can from your old ISP.

Tom

Happy New Year

Removing the old ISP installation and rebooting has always worked best for me.

Sometimes its hard to remember everything they put on your drive.

So run add/remove progams from the control panel, and look for the primary installation file.

i.e. AOL internet... etc

Aol and many other providers will show up as 2 or more entries in the add/remove list.

Try using the un-install button for each.

Reboot.

Run a regclean utility.

Install new software.

If it is AOL definitely get rid of all the components. It interferes with your new ISP.
