I saw those in Ireland. They are weirdly beautiful. I looked into getting seeds. However I don't have the right climate for it.

Rarely seen in the UK, Young tree found growing in the wild. The well known Monkey Puzzle Tree. The distinctive well known hardy evergreen tree originating from Chile, it will withstand exposed situations.
Origin: Fertile seed from the UK.
Sow point first in 5-9cm pot 2/3 to 3/4 of the seed inserted into the compost Or place seed in a zip lock bag large enough to hold 5 x the amount of seeds, add damp vermiculite, seal and place in warmth. Open bag twice weekly to allow ingress of air.

Hello there. I've grown a lot of monkey puzzle tress (Araucaria). First of all the seed has to be viable. It's about 2ins long or slightly smaller, shiny and smooth and dark brown. Plant it lengthwise in a small pot about 1/2ins deep in a leafy compost. Keep it watered and in a sunny position. It can take months sometimes, so be patient. Hope that helps, x

They are very slow to germinate. One trick is to put the seed in a pot of wet compost, cover it up and keep it in the bottom of the fridge for 12 weeks. Then take it out and keep it in a warm room until the seedling appears. After that, keep it watered and wait.
