Hi,
Please try this steps........
System doesn't Enter or Exit Standby Mode
If the Computer Does Not Enter or Exit Standby Mode or if the System enters standby but comes out immediately, please refer the solution provided in this link:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/famiDocument?dlc=&lc=en&product=12455&cc=us&docname=bph07147
And if System enters standby/Hibernation but doesn't come out, try Power Drain Steps. Because, this could be due to any charge that is left in the notebook Capacitors. To check this, let us try performing Power drain process.
To perform a Power Drain Procedure:
1.Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2.Remove the Battery.
3.Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4.Install the battery.
5.Reconnect the AC adapter.
6.Turn on the Notebook power.
The above process will discharge the charge that is left in the Notebook Capacitors which could cause this issue.
Regards,
Prasad.

I'm not the best person to talk to about these kind of things but this might help:on the back of your PC (where everything plugs in) there is a very small switch that most people don't notice that has a number on it, maybe if you switch it it will fix your problem. If this doesn't fix your problem be sure to switch it back.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
