my sisters b-day was yesturday. we never went ice skating before so we figure why not go today. so my question is what are some tips you would give for first timers.

be sure to wear gloves and a helmet. Make sure to wear long socks so that the skate do not scrape your ankles. And always bend your kness if you feel like you're going to fall so that you don't fall backwards.

Stay to the outside, out of other skaters way, wear gloves or mittens, even if your skating inside, This will help you to use your hands when you fall, (and you will fall) instead of your elbows.

If you can roller skate, you can ice skate. Just make sure you bundle up.
