Not at all I don't know where you get this idea from. All groups of immigrants go through a stage where they are considered unwanted. This is generally because the people currently in the country feel that newcomers are taking the opportunities for employment, resources etc. away from them. Irish, Greek, Russian, and we can't forget the polish have all had there time of being the main focus for bias. Do you realize that is where the term, "paddy wagon" originated from. Politics can also play a part in this discrimination as seen with Japanese citizens during the second world war. After the war in Vietnam, Asians were discriminated against. Currently the Arabic culture is suffering from the most bias because of the war in the middle east.
As long as people hold prejudice against others there will be some kind of bad behaviour towards those in cultures or from countries unknown. Generally speaking however the person that is most likely to hold these biases are middle aged men, of lower education living in rural areas. At least that is what the statistics tell us. Hope this helps.

I am Italian- American and I do not think this is the case. Irish- Americans are stereotyped as alcoholics. Italian -Americans are stereo-typed as mafia involved. Look at the "The Sopranos" and "Growing Up Gotti." Shows like that, although popular and good, only promote the image of dumb Italian Americans. There are so many intelligent and susccessful Italian-Americans out there that make the social ladder impossible to exist. Just like trailer park living, wal-mart shopping, southern-americans are not consider to me to be low on the social ladder either. Everyone has abilites that we are not able to see, skin or clothing deep. Many of America's homeless are college educated and once were professionals- circumstances got them where they are. So plghhh!!!! to the social ladder.
You have to look at the individual not what their ethnic background is.

Because the secular media hates Catholics and they know they can berate them without any reprisal. If the media portrayed Muslims the way the Sopranos portrays Italians, the riots in the street would be worse than from those stupid Danish cartoons that got those nutcases all in a tizzy this year.
