Dear Human Resources Gestapo:

In light of recent events, it is with great joy that I must submit my joyous resignation. No longer will I be forced to dress like a Christmas Elf working at the GAP. I will no longer unload trucks full of Chinese faux-mahogany end tables or Taiwanese laptop DVD players.

Usually you don't have to do this in writing but make it short like:

Due to personal reasons I need to resign my position
as of ( date).

Sincerely,

I enjoyed the experience of being part of the Target team, but I will soon be going to school full-time and must devote my time to my studies. I am giving me two-week's notice effective today. Thank you for the opportunity to work here.
Sincerely,

You want to just keep it short and sweet... good luck with your studies.
