However if it is - How do I derangement my computers HDD

then using Windows XP

Right click My Computer click Manage click Disk Management click the drive and click Defragment this Drive click Analyze

and follow the prompts.

You mean Defragmenting your hard disk? if you mean that, then go to "Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter" then choose the drive that you want to difrag and then click on "Defragment" button

Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Defragment (Click on analyze and if it says it needs defraged click on that.

go to: Control Panel
Look for: Administrative Tools (click)
Look for: Computer Managment (click)
Look for: Disk Defragmentation (may be on sidebar to left - click)Look in box for: Defragment (click)
Wait for it to do it's think and then close. All finished.

You're making it too complicated. Just defragment your computer, forget about defragmentising it. Should solve your problem.
