This varies with different people. With my first 2 kids my it was just a trickle but when i had my 3rd i felt a pop and there was a huge rush of water. You'll know when it' has happened as you will think you have wet yourself!

When my water broke with my first son ,I was doing laundry,I was cleaning out the lint trap an sneezed. I felt a small warn gush of water there was not much just enough to wet my under wear a little. I honestly thought I had peed my pants at first. I went up stair to change my under wear and noticed that it was kind of a light pink. as I was going to call the Dr It happened again. This time alittle more. This continued all the way to the hospital. And for quite a while after. With my second there was a huge gush of water. So it is different with every baby and person. If you think that your water has broken call you Dr or go to the hospital. If it has then great that's where you need to be. If not they will tell you what to look for next time and send you home. Remember though that your water dose not always break when you go into labor. Hope this helps you some.

You will feel a rush of warm water and pressure release. I do not know how else to describe it. It feels like you have just popped a blister and all the pressure goes away. But you will know when it happens and you will also know the difference between your waters breaking or peeing yourself, (which can happen late in pregnancy)

First, it doesn't always happen, so don't count on that as your cue to go to the hospital. Second, it could be that you feel a trickle of water, think you peed yourself, you wipe, and it keeps on happening or that there is a gush. Different people, even different pregnancies, it happens differently. Don't worry, we can tell that you will know that something out of the ordinary is going on and you will be concerned enough to get it checked out just by the fact that you are asking this question. You'll do great.

When my water broke, it was a huge gush of water. I had to step into the bath tub. I was in the bathroom when it broke. On the other hand, all women are different. Your water may not brake on its own and it may have to be broken by the doctor.
It sounds like you are very nervous and worried about going into labor. It can be scary, but you are going to be just fine. Good luck!

It does not always break. With my first, I had a small tear up at the top and had small leakage for days before the Dr. realized it. My water did not break at all with my 2nd.
