Get back on it, and go up, down ,up down - for however long it takes to get there. Adjust your speed until your comfortable with it.
Then do some figure of eights followed by - turn left, right - left right -grind the gear and go for it with some forward, reverse, forward, reverse-until you arrive at your desired destination. ;)
