why are German toilets that weird shape inside?

im from England and im glad from a toilet point of view. The Japanese ones must be really uncomfortable as well because u have to squat down, i like to relax and read when im doing my business. And german ones you have to smell what u did because it drops on a shelf bit in the pan! whats the point of that?

In Germany the natives believe in examining their excrement before flushing it away: that way they can decide if they need more fibre in their diet or if they had a little too much red wine.
