What you MUST take into account is that the rear of the headlight unit is a MIRROR - Tape off the top and light shines only from the bottom part upwards, Tape off the right side and the light only shines from the left TO the right.
If you experiment with a peice of card, you will see what I mean.
The area to shade is the bottom right of both lamps, thus avoiding the light shining upwards and to the left into the oncoming traffic (because they drive on the wrong side!)

Best bet would be to go to Halfords and buy the conversion kit (Only cost a couple of pounds, plus you also get your GB sticker, which is a must).

but its better to buy continental lights
its a prob for me to being a Brit living here in Germany and owning a Right hand drive car

i wouldnt worry about it, i was driving round in a renault clio for four years with the wrong headlights in it, was only picked up when it went for first MOT
