I think it was a very STUPID choice. To me, having the guy in captivity is ENOUGH. If they were afriad he was going to break loose they could of increased the security! We are going to get hit for this, who is to blame???

What is your opinion?

It is totally unnecessary, hanging an old man that doesn't have many years left in his natural life either. Saadam has already lost his war, taking away his life is meaningless.Perhaps it is some people ego that wants him dead.

This was the choice of the judicial system of the Iraqi people, I feel the system shows a great deal of bravery on their part. Even with the assignations, threats and actions of factions within their own country they saw it thru.

If this had been in this country it would have taken15 years for the system to work and even then all the bleeding heart liberals would have been lined up in his support.

had he been given life sentence, every kidnapping and murder would have been an effort to gain his freedom. The Iraqi people and unfortunately people in other parts of the world will be threatened by terrorists for years to come in his name.

Newton's third law says that to every action belongs a reaction. There will be reactions to this unnecessary act. I feel like if we were living in the times of the Roman empire with Nero as emperor (Bush). He wants his people to have some fun in the Colosseum Circus and then he will end up burning his own empire together with us in it.

I think Bush has proved that he is no better than Saddam.

I just can't get over the fact that they are showing his execution every five minutes on the news channels in the UK before the 9.00pm watershed.

Don't these people understand that young children will be watching this and will be likely to have nightmares?

I think it is a question that is only answerable for his victims..I thought long and hard about it..I do not believe in execution but I also do not have any idea how it feels to have your family members slaughtered, tortured or just disappear. I think we should take a cue from the families of those he killed, maybe it gave them a sense of peace and finality. Maybe they can go on with their lives now, and I imagine Saddam would have preferred death to life in prison.

It was very necessary. Besides, his punishment does not concern you, you are not a citizen of Iraq. Iraqi law rules in Iraq, not American law. We will not get hit any more than we already are over there.
Why do you think he deserved to live?

Bush and American government are to blame for. I think it was a bad choice to execute him. It was enough in captivity.
Iraqi people wil be hard hit by this and Sunnis are sad.

There are people in this world that don't deserve to live. He was one of them. You can't possibly think that putting people alive into meat grinders and rape and genocide is the same as taking the life of the person that committed those crimes, that's RIDICULOUS. He got off EASY. Justice would have been him having to experience every death he was responsible for. If you saw with your own eyes every murder he did, you would want to torture and kill him yourself. Come into reality, the water's fine...

No, because yes he is CRUEL.

But think about this. If we kill him, we're doing the same thing that he did to us.

So, at the end, we're trying to stop evil, but aren't we doing it ourselves? Let God decide, because we are all just under God's rules. So don't deny that we're doing the same thing to him.
Let God decide what should be done. He is far superior, and we're just his creation, confused ones.

I dont think taking any ones life is justified. I can understand killing someone in self defence or spur of moment but this cold calculated murder with so much of hype is unnecessary
