Its more like 60-75%, lots of people like it, but most dont admit it or just wont watch it cause they think its kiddy, but its not just for kids, anime is more for teens and adults, cause there are lots of bloody scenes, there are so many different types, its just like t.v. its not a cartoon that just had comedy, it has everything to please everyone, it has romance for the girls, lots of bloody action for the guys, and kiddy stuff for the kids. u wont get people to adimit they like anime until they are with their friends and u sneak in and listen to their conversation, but more and more people just dont care and say the like anime. well thats what i get from my school, just look around, be quite and listen, u will learn a lot.

I've run a comic book shop in North Carolina for almost 30 years. About 10 years ago this art form became very prevalent. Even the American comics like X-Men and Spiderman took on an anime "feel". We kept a good stock of new anime titles on hand at all times. Now it seems the American books are reverting back to the old school styles. You can still see some Asian influence occasionally with artists such as Koi Turnbull and Mike Wringo. But sales for the anime books have dropped drastically and most of the fans are in a very young age group, presumably because of the Cartoon Network shows. Now we only purchase anime titles as special orders.

I really dont know...It depends on what age range you are talking about. If your granddaughter is fairly young, then its pretty likely that a large portion of her classmates and friends like some anime or another. There have been a handful of animes that have been run on Cartoon Network and Kids WB Network. Theres alot of older children, teens, and adults who enjoy those, as well as many other animes. Also, anime is growing in popularity in the US, but it has been popular for a long time in Japan, and many of the shows are aimed at an older range of veiwers. But if you consider the entire population (all age ranges, all countries), I would guess that the percentage is probably a little under 50%.

Your Grandaughter is probably right. Kids all over the world just love it.
Though 29 out of 31 are odd numbers for her to quote; unless she's in a class of 31.

myself I love anime and Im older, but I have come across a few people online and so that are abit younger then me but hide it from their friends. I have a handfull of friends who actually watch anime including myself.

I dont think its that high, I spend time on message boards expecially for Adult Swim which plays anime on cartoon network, the anime for mature audiences lol

I would say 60% of 20 and younger would enjoy it and as you get older more and more people find other things of enjoyment.
I couldn't find anything of actual percentage wise online. I guess you really can't find "anything" online hehe

It sounds like she took a survey of her classmates...not exactly a valid statistical sample. You can't get 29 of 31 people to agree on much of anything...anime might be popular, but not THAT popular. I don't know a single person that DOES like anime, or at least not one that will admit it.

Hmm...I'd say that 85% of the U.S. knows what anime is, but only about 75% of those people actually like it. I Love Anime And Manga!!!

I don't think the percent is that high. If it is, I must be one of the two people (out of 31) who doesn't like it.
