It would have been right if the President was right next to him. Mr. President has innocent blood on his hands as well; the blood and health of our troops, American civilians, journalists, and thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians (men, women and children).

EVERYDAY, life is lost there and no one in America says anything unless the life lost is American. There are many leaders that are guilty of the crimes that Saddam himself had committed. Not one American President chased them down. And what about the genocide in Africa (Congo and Sudan)? Not one American President hanging those responsible there.

Remember, America invaded Iraq with out complete UN consent and little to no support from other countries. AND NO WMD FOUND IN IRAQ! The only reason Saddam hung last night was because of his stubbornness to allow the UN to further inspections on UN standards. He would probably be alive and ruling if the UN would have been able to do it's job without America interferring and soundly say "We have no WMD, America can not invade."

Besides the fact that Bush is just as guilty, Saddam was guilty of mass murder also and as disturbing as capital punishment is, he had it coming.

WAS THIS FAIR OR THE RIGHT THING? WE that sit here, ignorant in the US, in the lap of luxury so to speak (including me) Are the LAST to ask. This question should be posed to the VICTIMS' FAMILIES and those he oppressed.

And then God is the final judge. Will we ask God, "Did you do the right thing? Was this fair?" I think not.

Don't know if execution of Hussein was fair - have mixed emotions! The one thing I am sure of is the USA should adopt the Iraqi's timeline between being found guilty & being executed! Decaes on death row is absurd! Also if the US would revert back to hanging the infamous ACLU would not have a case that lethal injection is so slow it's inhumane...death by hanging is over in a split second!

Yes, hanging Saddam was the right thing and it was fair. Now Saddam will not be able to murder more people. Saddam was a cruel, evil murdere who filled mass graves with peopel he suspected opposed him in any way. Saddam even used shredding machines designed to recycle plastic to kill people by shredding the people feet first.

Yes I do. Sure, executing him does not change what he did. It does not make the pain of what he did go away. It does not bring back the ones he brutally murdered. BUT...It is fair. Now all the innocent people don't have to worry about any further threat from him. When you go and commit such brutal acts be prepared to take the punishment that goes along with it!

The man butchered thousands in the most brutal and horrid ways imaginable, and tortured many others. He ruled through being a harsh bully. People in Iraq were scared of him when he was alive, and are now dancing in the streets that he is dead! Yes, I believe it was the right thing, and hanging was the right way to do it, because he died as a common criminal.

I still would have liked him to rot in a tiny isolation cell, no books, TV, radio, newspapers, etc., so he could slowly go crazy, and would know what was happening.

I do think the timing was all wrong. They should have waited till after Eid. That is like hanging a notorious person in England, on Christmas Day.

Mr Hussein was responsible for about 2 million deaths, mostly of innocent people.
Was hanging him fair?I dont think so,I think life imprisonment would have been a lot harder on him,,,this was too easy.
