Clearwater is an incredible destination to visit in Florida. The best months to go for weather are during the winter time if you want 75-80 degree temperatures and little humidity. May will be fairly hot and humid, however, not terribly bad. July-September is when you do not want to be in Florida due to Hurricanes/Heat/Humidity.

Some of the better beaches in Florida. Great golfing, easy access to the Tampa and Orlando area. Have fun!

There is a tremendous amount of construction going on in Clearwater and Clearwater Beach. The traffic is a mess and parking is at a premium. Yes, the beach is nice, if you can get to it.
I would consider St Petersburg Beach and would also suggest looking at condominium rentals if you are planning an entire week.

It is lovely and warm during A.M. and HOT in P.M.. Some showers/storms in the afternoons, usually around 3 - 4 pm. Take lots of water, you'll need it!

Disney stuff:- Try to get there early and if they still do it, go to the main rides and 'fastpass' your tickets. Do that and you get times to return to the rides and you basically queue jump! It costs extra at Universal!

Do Epcot first and work inwards. Quiet in mornings but really busy in afternoons. Epcot also has a poor food supply...very basic.

Rest of Disney parks not too bad on food side if a little expensive!

If you can, go to Seaworld resort....really good, great food (lot's of it) and if at all possible go to Discovery Cove and do the Dolphin swim. BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO BOOK THAT NOW!!! There is a 5 month waiting list...but well worth it.

Just watch out for the usual cons outside the attractions and don't buy passes from anyone! Go thru the proper channels or hotel!

Watch the driving, they are strict.

But the bonus is - The Floridians are not like other brash, arrogant Americans...very laid back and friendly!

We visit Florida often and have done all the beach resorts, Cocoa, Daytona, Sanibel Island, Fort Myers etc etc and we loved Clearwater the best!
It's a lovely little town and easy to get to from Orlando. One straight road, then again it's easy to get anywhere.
We went on our honeymoon in March and it's was really lovely weather then so I can imagine May will be fantastic.
There's a great subway on the main street but be careful where you eat it. We took ours down to eat on teh beach and I literally got mine stolen out of my hands by a suicidal kamakazi seagull! They are really ruthless I tell ya!
I'm so jealous.....might start booking my holiday!

Well, beautiful weather, yes, but!!! At this time, ripping down the old, slowly;y up with the new. We moved 2miles south, away from this noise place. Look into , make sure your Hotel is not next to a construction sight. They start at 7am, go till 8pm!!!!! Stay where we are, Indian Rocks beach, construction free.
