First of all, who are Bush and Blair to decide about the faith of Iraq and Saddam, for that matter any other country or its leader? They have been elected by their people to rule their respective countries and not the world!

Saddam was a brutal dictator and he is supposed to have killed 100s of 1000s of people in Iraq. But, what has happened in Iraq since he was overthrown? Who is supposed to be responsible for the killings going on after his capture? Bush, Blair, the new regime?

Why was Saddam not shifted to the International Court in Hague? Why was he allowed to be tried in Iraq by his own enemies? Because Bush wanted Saddam to be eliminated as quickly as possible! Why? Who created a brutal Saddam? Who encouraged Saddam to fight the Iran war? Its the US government.

His execution will invite more problems for Iraq, for which neither Bush nor Blair will have any solution. Today, they have no idea as to how to get out of Iraq gracefully, forget about solving Iraq's problems. Saddam is going to haunt these two and the new regime in Iraq from his grave.

As for his execution, the new regime could have waited for other trials to get over. Tareq Aziz wanted something important to say - the government should have allowed his testimony. And as for the timing, why did the government select Eid day to hang him? Couldn't they wait for a few days more? What was the hurry? Or was Bush behing this timetable also?

Watching people on TV celebrating his death was disgusting! Death is not celebrated, even if the dead person is your worst enemy. This is not what Islam or for that matter any religion teaches! But today, when people have lost all counts of humanity and brotherhood, what do you expect? One cannot blame these people who are celebrating, one has to blame the leaders - both religious and political, to put this hatred in the minds of the people.

Saddam was the only strong leader who kept Israel and Iran in check. The region is today without a strong leader and the region is going to be ruled (ruined) by the terrorists. Well, let us hope and pray this does not happen. Let us pray for Peace not only in the region, but throghout the world!

This is just not the case . While its true that Saddam committed many atrocities while in power and justice was
done when he was put to death its hardly an occasion for anyone to celebrate a state sponsored execution. Saddam was tried and convicted in an Iraqi court by Iraqis and subsequently put to death by hanging by Iraqis. He will not be considered a martyr by any stretch of the imagination . As far as Bush or Blair being worried and looking over their shoulder, well thats not very likely as they both have a great many people protecting them for the rest of their lives.

Irony is too weak a word to describe Bush and his henchmen logic that they did not execute Saddam and to distance themselves from what's happening in Iraq.

American military is still on the ground there, after attacking that country, hunting down Saddam, holding him for years, handing him over to be hanged. All of that yet because an Iraqi hand tied the noose they're claiming they did not hang Saddam!!!!!

And all the while Haliburton reaps the profit from Iraqi oil fields, the pumps here in the US and other non-bid contracts that stole billions of dollars from the US treasury.

How much safer is America than it ever was?

I'm not crazy to think that something is VERY VERY wrong about that defense.

You are so right. The problem is that Mr Bush and Mr Blair think they are immune to all this and that they are invincible. They dont actually go to war now do they. Would you feel safe putting a loaded gub in their hands and send them off packing to a country for a war that they started?

So while Mr Blair is enjoying another FREE holiday at our expense we will have to deal with the consequenses. In my opinion Mr Blair should stay with Mr Bush at least the target is on one place.

You only make part sense. The other part is all gibberish.
The part about saddam committing all that crime and he deserved death, yes you are right.
All the rest, you have rambled on.

Main diff in this with Bush and Blair: They are elected leaders of a democratic nation. They went to war. In war people die on both sides. That is not genocide. Got it? If as you suggest they should be tried, then the entire nation should be tried. Do you see you make no sense in that logic?

As a Republican, I answer "definite." that's strictly why we Republicans no longer have maximum individuals! yet, the Dems would be even worse...if it truly is conceivable! we could desire to wash homestead and Senate, place Constitutional term limits on those buffoons, and take lower back our united states from all the smarmy, corruptible politicians...Republican and Democrat.

Saddam should not be killed. If he is, then it follows that Bush & Blair should too.

I think the next generation of nutcase terrorists will be fuelled by Saddam's death even though he was evil to his own Muslim people.
