Most of spybots results are nothing to worry about.

Lots are just tracking cookies usually (can begin to slow your pc down if they build up)- although can find darker stuff too.

And besides... Norton is Anti-Virus Protection (i believe) not Anti-Spyware which is what the Spybot program is.

the reason spybot finds more than norton my friend is for several reasons
first norton is a dedicated ant-virus scanner were as spybot concentrates on just spyware and adware, this can include low level adware such as tracking cookies, which arnt spyware as such but can track surfing habbits so they are classed under spyware
spybot is probally the best spyware scanner avalible but you need to know how to use it correctly to get the most out of it
the updates for spybot are issued every friday and once you update spybot you should go straight to imunize and imunize spybot,it will then add all new defenitions to the "blocked" list
unless you update spybot on a regular basis you are open to any new spyware and adware,so the name of the game is 1)update>2)imunize>3)scan,and if you do this from experience you will be pretty well spyware free, that is how good spybot is
however if you use mozzila "firefox" you will notice spybot will find a few "tracking cookies",there is a alternative peice of software in this situation...spyware blaster...http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html,is different to spybot as it dosent scan,it just blocks bad pages in internet explorer and more importantly "firefox" and again if kept updated will reduce the amount of tracking cookies you encounter
finally spybot is used with another program by lots of windows xp users, lavasofts adaware personal(http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5) this is a scanner but dosent defend your p.c so using this with spybot and spyware blaster(which do protect your system) make a excellent all round spyware gaurd
adaware is particually good at getting rid of the spyware responsible for "pop-ups",so this cant be bad
i hope this helps my friend
happy new year!

Norton Symantec does search for spyware.
to answer your question have you got spyware protection enabled ?
To find out if you have this feature switched on,
click on web browsing, then spyware protection,
security risk categories,
Norton Symantec will search for:
Spyware,
Adware,
Dialers,
Joke programs
Remote access,
Hack tool's
Trackware,
So, for anyone to say Norton is just anti-virus is not true,
the software will also block spam, unwanted email, scan your email before you click on open so you don't infect your computer, including attachment's
the software will also stop anyone from using your email address for spam purposes, and a lot more to mention here.
Good luck and happy safe computing .

I expect because your Norton is anti-virus, whereas Spybot is anti-spyware - two different things.

yeah these other answers are right... especially depending on your settings on spybot. if you have it set to remove cookies fron your internet brower, it will find a lot. most anti virus programs wont catch those unless they are harmful... which most arent.

i've used spybot before and it would always find things that my other spyware wouldn't-i think it would find fault with itself if it could.I use Adaware which is free-finds loads of spyware but gets rid of them easily.
