My lifelong dream is to go to Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training but on looking at the schedule it seems the tickets are in the $75.00 range (I can go to a game cheaper!!) and it only shows the games. I just want to go to the practices. When do they start, am I allowed in and do I need a ticket?

Only the most prime of box seats should cost anywhere near $75!! You can usually sit in general admission or grandstand seats for under $10....but then I haven't been at spring training since 2003.

Most of the practices are open to fans, and won't cost you for admission. Usually there are multiple practice sessions occuring at a given teams facility (pitching, hitting, infield drills, rookies)

I would contact the Blue Jays public relations folks via email to get any specific questions addressed. Only 47 more days until spring training starts!!

If you cant find cheap tickets though the Blue Jays, then go around and follow them when the play road spring training games, you can go to other teams field's and watch the Blue Jays games. I have done this many times before with the Mets and Red Sox. If you still want to see them practice for free, and this does not help, look at the bottom of the Toronto Blue Jays website and look for the bot ton that says "contact us" click on that it will bring up a screen in which you can choose categories that describe what you are looking for, then you can send them a email or it should bring up a phone number. Have fun in spring training, tell Vernon Wells I say hi!

Spring training games are usually cheap. I hope you're using the Blue Jays' website to purchase tickets. There is usually a ticket link on the schedule. They should never cost that much.

Where/Who was trying to sell you spring training tickets for $75.00? I have been to many spring training baseball games, once as a fan, and several as an umpire. As a fan, the cost was minimal. I never tried to get in and watch a practice, but have showed up numerous times prior to the games in hopes of catching a batting practice home run ball.
As for the second part, I actually got paid to go to these games and umpire as part of our training academy. It was a great experience, as many of us never made it past AA ball as umpires.

Just to give the players practice. It doesn't count it's just a scrimmage.
