Witnesses to the hanging have said that he died instantly - they heard his neck snap. I'm glad that he did, because to deliberately make someone suffer would be to lower yourself to their level. Let's keep our own dignity, for goodness sake.

Death in general when faced with life in prison is an easy way out, no matter if you were tortured to death or not. I personally feel that people are no better for hanging a tyrant. They fall down to his level and the only reason they get away with it is supposedly they sit on a bench and wear a robe. I didn't support Saddam, but killing just begets killing and its a never ending fuc*king cycle. When does it all just Fuc*king stop? Do we sweep the world and just kill all low lives and creeps and hope it stops? There needs to be some serious evaluations of criminal punishment and maybe we can start making the world a better place. whheewww I feel like I just lifted a load.

too good? when is dying ever really that good of an option? life time in a foreign prison would be harder over the long haul.
if you want to rid the world of evil monsters, you probably have on in your neighborhood that is far more likely to commit a crime or have a criminal record. are we hanging those as well or is that too good?

I saw a report about his sons and they would whip men for the fun of it. They would strip a man put him in an arena like the Romans and have lions claw him until he was half dead then they would bring in buckets of salt and pour it on the man's wounds. Thank God this family of sadists are gone!

I personnaly think that you can look at this from two sides:
the first is that it would have been better to let him rot in a dirty cell or tie him to a pole and let the Iraqis and other beat him up.
Or it was right to kill him, because of the horrible things he did and the Americans needed to show the world whos boss.........as they so often do.
Sorry if I offended you or others but that is my personal opinion

TO HANG SADDAM IS NOT GOOD , IT CAN BE IF ALL FORCES ARE OF IRAQ BUT HERE IS CAPYURED BY USA, AND USA HAS NO RIGHT TO MAKE ANY JUSTIC IN IRAQ . THIS WAS A GAME OF POWER IF SADDAM WLL SO POWERFULL HE CAN HANG BUSH , THAT WLL NOT JUSTICE ALSO LIKE THIS WAY BUSH HANGED SADDAM , IS NOT JUSTICE . IF IT WAS MUST THEN HE SHOULD BE PESENTED TO PUBLIC COURT NOT IN JAIL. .........ANY HOW ALL IS WELL THAT S END WELL!

It was too good for him in my opinion. He should have been made to suffer like all the people he made suffer. A nasty jail cell in my opinion for the rest of his days would have been better. Now he goes with the satisfaction of thinking himself a martyr and probably stirring up a mass of extremists who will think him a hero and want to follow in his footsteps. God help us.

If you are going to ask a question like this then you need to ask WHY DOSENT BUSH DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE OTHERS IN THE WORLD LIKE MUGABE!!!!!!!!!
Plus BUSH and BLAIR are just as EVIL. They sent our troops in under false pretensis that there were WMD when there was NO evidence of this AT ALL.

Yes, he should first be burned alive and then torn pieces by a sharp knife to feel the same pain he did to people. He had what he deserved !!!!
