Anything is possible. It just turns out that when a man and woman are friends, they get very comfortable with eachother. If both are not in a relationship, as friends, you may just oneday decide to help eachother out in that department. Don't they say friends make the best lovers. By a certain point, as friends you've talked about the sex stuff cause that's what friends do. So, you kind of have an upper hand knowing likes and dislikes. But, if both or one is married, sure it could stay platonic.

Most definitely, we can! My very best friends are men. Just think about it, when we become friends with the opposite sex, there are many less worries that could hinder a friendship. The real big thing is, a male friend is not after my MAN! LOL..They don't borrow your clothes, and never return them, usually not prone to talk behind your back, and will defend you tirelessly! Likewise, when a woman befriends a man, she's got his back! No woman will ever pull the wool over his eyes, cause he has a better insight, after all, his best friend IS a woman! The benefits are endless, and sex NEVER has to be mentioned.

Women seem perfectly capable of platonic relationships, but men always seem to bring sex in somehow. They've been trained to think about sex 24/7 and will think about it with anyone they're around. Our mothers have done poor jobs of raising sons, it's time to change!

A platonic relationship really is possible, but it seems to be more difficult for men than for women.

If the man is gay it is more likely that a man and woman can have a platonic relationship, other wise it seems to be very difficult.

A guy and a girl can have a platonic relationship only and only if either of them is romantically engaged with someone else.

My best friend is a woman apart from my wife of course. I have known my friend for over thirty years and we have never even thought about sex with each other. Well I haven't anyway. My wife has a male friend who lives a long way away and they have been writing to each other for years. I don't ever want to look at her letters because I trust them both. You don't have to sleep with someone just because you know them. True friends will never let you down. If I suggested sex between my friend and I she would probably slap my face and remind me I have a wife.
