Forget about what is fashionable or not. Go with your heart - if you feel good in it, wear it. You don't have to keep up with the joneses. Dare to be Ms. Jones and dictate the pace instead of following it!

Yep definately the leggings. I love em and they are 2nd time around for me... God that makes me nearly a wrinkley :o) LOL or you could wear long boots, without the leggings e.g calf length or near knee length just as they used to in the 60's. Its what you feel comfortable in on the night . Have a good night and happy new year.

If you want authentic Carnaby street look you need white opaque tights and shoes with heavy square heels and squar toes.
I was there wearing them in the sixties no one wore black leggings until the mid 70s

Black tights and high heels will make short legs appear longer. Definitely wear them and they will go perfectly with the dress you describe. Have fun and good luck you will look smashing.

You feel more comfortable without leggins, you just wrote that yourself.
That should be a hint. ;) Fashion/style is about feeling comfortable, feeling pretty, feeling good. So if you don´t feel good wearing leggins, don´t go there.
Plus: unless you´ve got Mischa Barton/Nicole Richie legs, leggins are very likely to make your legs look short and plump.
People, seriously: Leggins looked horrific in the 80s, bringing them back doesn´t make them better. ^^

Have fun.
