People have answered technically, but have not got the message of your heart! I congratulate you from my heart. We have to popularise Hindi. There is no doubt about it. We cannot be slaves all the time. If we do not respect our mother then it is very bad.

Yahoo! doesn't allow this because it would result in a huge drop in visitors to the English-language site. You can filter either by country or by language. You (and many other people here) probably don't realize that you're in the English site (which includes all questions with language key EN) and not in your country-specific site, which you reach by clicking one of the icons at the bottom of the page. But even if you do post at Yahoo India or another country site, people who are logged in to the English site will still see your questions.

The English language option displays questions from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, the UK, and the US (those who don't speak Spanish). The US only makes up about 25% of the visitors, but most of the advertising is targeted at the US, so they'd lose a lot of money if they moved India to a separate language option, as this would mean a drop of a third to one half of all page impressions here.

You can post it in the forum (you'll find the link in the top right corner of the page) under "Ideas & Suggestions" (sticky thread), but I doubt you'll get a positive response for the above reasons.

Sara, there are over 200 different languages spoken in India. English is used because it is common to most Indians. There is NO "Indian" language. There is no "mother language" of India. If you are Indian, why don't you know this?

Why are you asking this in Yahoo, USA?

I thought you meant Native American, since it's Politically Incorrect to call our "Indians" that, nowadays.

Cheers!!!!
