Whether you are in midtown or anywhere else....mixed drinks will run from $6 - $12. I drink vodka cranberry and most often pay about $7/$8 per drink, and leave a $1 tip for each.
The prices on beer vary pretty widely - you can go somplace that has a special and pay only $3 - $5 a pint, or you find places where they have specialty beers for up to $10. But usually beer is much cheaper than a mixed drink and around $5.
The prices on wine also vary quite significantly - you can get the house wine at a bar for as little as $7 a glass and then find places with extensive wine lists that have bottles for $500!
It really depends on your personal taste and how much you want to spend.
Dinner in midtown will cost you about $8 - $9 for appetizers and about $14 - $20 for entrees. I would expect to spend about $50 per person for dinner/dessert and drinks. There are places that will cost a little less, and you can get lunches for much less than that.
Check out menupages.com - they have menus for thousands of NYC restaurants that include pricing. You can select to just look at places in/near midtown and then sort by price.
