Yes, it is to do with responsiblity.
Dominion is when you are using the power to dominate and exploit what you have power over, like a rapist.
Stewardship is when you are using the power to look after what you have power over, like a gardener.

I personally say that the right means get used in the wrong way. The abuse of power through self righteous hyprocrasy. Keep in mind, power and virtue are basically the same thing. Example 1: Introducing Rabbits to Australia. Example 2: Genocide of an indigeonous culture such as the Incas for not converting to Christianity. Answer 3: Christianity institutionalizing guilt as a virtue. I think many Christians are confused between stewardship and dominion.

We were given dominion over the earth and everything on (in) it how (the way) we manage what G-d has given us is our stewardship. In some cases we haven't been good stewards, that is why we are going to run out of oil in 20 years.

well actually God gave adam and eve dominion over everything that "moveth"
To me, that means to run, use, and benefit from. Humans have to eat to live, so they can eat the animals, and use them to benefit and advance.
Does that mean man completely dominates nature; the things that moveth? No dominion is something that can be won or lost. As with kings and kingdoms, and or a man getting eaten by a shark or bear.
Stewardship is how you utilize your dominion to profit and advance or waste and use up.
Dominion is something that can be taken from you, stewardship is something that can not be taken from you. Really no one can change how you operate, your integrity, your stewardship.
Someone with dominion generally must enlist faithful/trustworthy stewards.

Dominion is to rule as king. dom=reign or rule.
Stewerdship is to administer for another. Like a manager of a hotel stewerds the hotel for its owners.
Both have power and both are responsible for that power. However the dominion ruler has a slight bit more freedom then the stewerd because the stewerd answers to his lord while the ruler is the lord.

Dominion is having dominance.
It is just a fact. Our species has a huge influence and dominates the planet (at least temporarily). We do not have total control of it, partly because we don't understand all of the consequences of our actions, and partly because we don't do anything to change the outcomes.
Stewardship is carefully managing our activities so we end up with happy outcomes from our actions.
.
One of the themes of Luke 16:1-18 talks about loving God's true riches more than money (mammon). There are several themes that arise from this passage, so it can be somewhat difficult.

This are just thoughts to trigger your mind.
I suspect dominion is ownership, and stewardship is caretaking.
i.e. religion, I think where they are going is God has ownership and we are the caretakers.
It could be taken to mean that dominion equates to having control of, stewardship has to do with taking care of.

My understand is simply that a steward is acting in the place of the one with the actual power, and acts in the same manner that the true ruler would act, in this case we must act in the way God would. To have dominion is to act solely in the way that suits you.
In both cases as I see it you are still responsible for your actions.

Dominion is when you have power & authority over something. Stewardship is when you are responsible for something but it is not completely yours.

In Gen. 1:28 God told Adam to have dominion over everything, which means to have power & authority over it, & stewardship in a way would be someone that manages something or to represent something, But not have complete authority over it, Like your Boss, will be over you, but his boss will be over him.
