Yes, why not?

Of course you can.

Becoming Prime Minister is open to all of us. All we need to do is become MPs and then show that we have got the ability, cunning and deviousness to rise through the ranks.

However, are you honestly telling me that professional boxers have the intelligence to become MPs, let alone Prime Minister. All the boxers I have ever seen have one thing in common. They are intellectual retards who only box because they are too stupid to do anything else with their lives.

Just imagine it. Frank Bruno as Prime Minister. I think not!!

Interesting question!

If you can gain the support of a party, win the hearts of the voters and have enough left in your noddle after the boxing poundings to formulate or agree policies, then yes.

Arnie went from being Mr Universe to being a serious political figure, by way of some very silly films, and while this is in America, if he can, then why not a boxer...

;)

There is no reason why they could not. But bear in mind that in the UK unlike the US it is much harder for any old riff-raff to be successful in politics. So not equivelents to Reagan, Scharschnegger. This is partly because we do not elect the PM but merely an MP for a party. The Party chooses who their leader is and if they have the most seat in the House of Commons this leader is automatically PM.

So there is no reason why a boxer couldn't be PM, but they would have to gain the support of an entier party, so they would probably have to have been in politics atleast while a boxer if not before.

Certainly, if an individual has the brains, motivation, and charisma to get elected. Jesse Ventura (professional wrestler) was elected Governor of Minnesota, & Arnold Schwarzenager (body builder, actor) parlayed his fame into the Governor's mansion in California.

The only thing that might prevent someone from becoming PM would be not meeting the basic requirements (age, citizenship, prior criminal acts, etc)

Maybe some of our prime ministers should become professional boxers? People would be lining up to take a shot at them!!

Yes, it can be done. Theodore Roosevelt (American president before WW1) was a boxer before he became a president.
Ronald Reagen was an actor before turning president, and he is not the only one. One of the Philippine most recent president was a former actor but he must step down due to huge corruptions scandal. Everyone can turn to politics.
First you must believe that everything is possible.

judging by the prime minister in Australia i think it would be a improvement to be 3/4 brain dead instead of 1/3 like little Jonny is

They are two different things which you would have to end ones career to take in the next. Well at the end of the day you won't become PM until you prove it to the world and have them running around voting for you. A lot of the people in politics are old now so I suppose they had a previous life with a family, job and home. Now they just babble on all day to make this world a bad place to live in. :D
