but you can install a fresh new copy of Windows XP to your computer, just insert the windows cd\dvd and reboot, then the cd will boot and then just select a fresh install.

if you're going to ask something about an OS upgrade, it would be helpful to include your PC's specs.

As for your upgrade option. Windows 95 can be upgraded to win98se or Windows ME. But it would be a better option to do a clean install.

If you PC is capable (hardware requirements) of running windows XP. You must do a clean install.

better do a fresh installation of xp
